We stand now battle-worn with our eyes fully open. We know what lies beneath and the cost of escape. We've seen the lowest ebb and the most exquisite relief. But the job is not yet complete.
The scramble to win the playoffs certainly imitates the vicious competitive nature of the crab bucket as teams spend all their energy fighting to escape the clutches of both the fisherman and their captive brethren... but I think the lesson to be learned here is that of the solitary crab.
I believe the final days of this season will prove to be Tranmere Rovers' black swan in the years to come. We will look back on this week and say it was meant to be. Because we're Tranmere Rovers, and we're on our way back to where we belong.
